The Royal Burgh of Crail’s long and fascinating history is told using text, illustrations and artefacts.
The people of Crail have always been wonderful and talented artists, embroiderers, potters, gardeners, sports persons and entrepreneurs. This exhibition looks at some of these people and their achievements.
This exhibition will be replaced in 2020 by "From Ship to Shore".
The Airfield Room
The history of the Airfield using photos and artefacts is described covering the period 1918 to 1960
Crail Mural Tombs
Crail Kirkyard has a significant number of Mural Monuments, 20 in total, whereas most other Kirkyards in Scotland would have only one or two. This reflects how affluent a trading town Crail was in earlier centuries.
Golfing in Crail
The exhibition follows the roots of golfing in Crail from the early Dutch traders, Sauchope Links, Balcomie Links, Crail Golfing Society, East Neuk o’ Fife Golf Club and the Tom Morris connection.
